The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee. PLEASE NOTE: An ?Enrollee? is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NEW Solutions. Qualifications:Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience in Structural engineering and the treatment of historic properties OR BA/BS Degree in Structural engineering and the treatment of historic properties with minimum additional experience of 5 year(s) in Structural engineering and the treatment of historic properties - None, though professional engineer license is a bonus.
- Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat
- BlueBeam or other design software
Duties:Support historic preservation needs of MAPR park assets on an ?as-needed? basis in response to technical assistance requests from DOE, who is the owner of all MAPR historic properties. - Conduct structural inspections of MAPR structures and buildings to assess physical condition and determine likely causes of failure. 40%
- Recommend treatments compliant with the Secretary of the Interior?s Treatment of Historic Properties to address deficiencies and help ensure the long-term preservation of historic properties, which could include addressing overall site conditions, structural and component stability and capacity, foundations, etc. 40%
- Support park compliance needs for projects with the potential to affect historic properties. 10%
- Review and comment on engineering reports and plans produced by others that relate to MAPR historic properties. 10%

- Overnight travel: Occassionally
- Air travel anticipated: As needed to reach the four MAPR locations from the enrollee?s location.
- Health and Safety Considerations: Training will be provided on-site to ensure that enrollee is fully aware of site-specific health and safety considerations and requirements. Because every site is different, each instance of work in the field will require unique safety approaches (to be identified in GARS, JHAs) and equipment. PPE will be provided, where needed.
- Required Safety Gear: PPE needed in the field will include, but is not limited to, hard hats, face masks, gloves, safety glasses, hi vis vests, and other gear necessary to ensure the enrollee is prepared to work in varied environments.
- Physical requirements: The enrollee will work in varied field environments, such as hiking or walking in rugged terrain to reach sites; working in interior, confined spaces; and working in buildings or structures that are in varying conditions including lacking mechanical systems, poor states of structural repair and/or may contain hazardous materials.
