These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP). The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. Qualifications:Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in a profession with primary duties involved in the study, inventory, monitoring, restoration, and management of a broad range of natural resources. Examples of program areas may include, but are not limited to, vegetation, wildlife, fisheries, exotic and pest species, sensitive species, and associated ecological components such as air, water, and soil. OR MA/MS Degree in Masters of Science or higher level degree that includes the major field of study in biological sciences, ecology, agriculture, natural resource management, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. - Demonstrated skill and experience with project planning and implementation and budget reporting.

Duties:Provide habitat restoration and vegetation management expertise to park staff as needed. Responsibilities primarily include the following: 1) development of restoration conceptual design plans; 2) development of plant species or community monitoring or management plans; 3) development of species or community trend reports; 4) act as a biological monitor for park projects; and 5) coordinate environmental compliance and agency permitting for park projects. - Develops conceptual restoration design plans, in coordination with park staff, that identifies compliance pathways, provides estimated costs, and may include contracting support. 50%
- Completes research and/or summarizes park data in order to provide management strategies, monitoring plans, or trend reports for invasive plant species, plant communities, or rare, threatened, or endangered plant species within the park. 20%
- Coordinate project NEPA compliance , including but not limited to the preparation of Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, and Environmental Impact Statements; development of Biological Assessments; applications for outside agency permits; and maintenance of project records and reviews in PEPC. 20%
- Serves as a biological monitor in the field as a representative of the NPS in order to ensure proper BMPs and environmental mitigations in place for park, partner, or contractor projects during implementation. 10%
Other:- Physical requirements: Job is primarily sedentary and performed in an office environment. However, required field visits may involve brief exposure to arduous climatic conditions (e.g. heat, cold, rain) and the need for sufficient mobility to navigate uneven terrain. Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods of time while providing computer-based support.
