These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP). Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee. PLEASE NOTE: An ?Enrollee? is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NEW Solutions. Qualifications:Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in Interpretive design and project management OR MA/MS Degree in Interpretive Design, Project Management, or related with minimum additional experience of 2 year(s) in design work and/or art - Experience with PMIS
- Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, MS Outlook
- Adobe Design Suite
Duties:Provide technical interpretive and design expertise to Mojave Preserve. Support MOJA with the development of an Interpretive Wayside Plan, and assist park with developing media and PMIS projects to implement plan. Position may be intermittent and/or part time. Position will require time spent in the Preserve, but some work may be done remotely. - Assess current wayside content, evaluate results of scoping trips and resulting recommendation, develop themes and topics, assess wayside image, map, and research needs, identify appropriate locations of new waysides, and submit a final wayside plan. 50%
- Work on the design of some exhibits and write PMIS project proposals to implement additional exhibits. Planning will ensure that essential park values and experiences are accessible to visitors, and that facilities and media are designed to accomplish visitor use and resource preservation goals. Planning should be a dynamic, continuing process. 50%
Other:- Overnight travel: Occasional travel to Mojave National Preserve unit during the length of the project. An initial trip of 2-4 weeks is expected, with potential future trips dependent upon enrollee location.
