Qualifications:

Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience in livestock research and clinical support. OR PhD Degree in Preferred Education Requirements are DVM/PhD.

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, licensed to practice in the state of Kansas.
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point

Duties:

Enrollee will provide veterinary and technical support for aspects of ABSL-3Ag ARU standup. Enrollee will develop tools, processes, and assist in decision making to finalize SOPs in preparation of IACUC inspections, APHIS AC inspections, AAALAC site visits and animals entering NBAF. Enrollee will directly contribute to Science Support in completing sample collection, training of science and ARU staff, and advising on study configuration and design within the 3Ag envelope. Walking, lifting up to 50#, some proof of vaccination may be required.   • SOP Review/Development.   20%
  • Veterinary Care and Science Support directly with animals.   20%
  • Training of science and ARU staff on animal techniques.   20%
  • Advise on functionality and create tools for space management in Ag areas.   20%
  • Develop unique solutions to facility specific problems in coordination with other units.   20%

Other:
  • Health and Safety Considerations: Enrollee would need to complete all relevant required NBAF training to enroll in Occupational Health and Safety Program.
  • Remote work arrangements are available for this position.
