Enrollee will provide operation, mentorship, training and expertise on the safe operation and maintenance of Forest Service heavy equipment. Assist is identifying and providing technical advise on road issues and conditions.

• Provide operation, mentoring and training to Forest Service personnel on operation and maintenance of existing Forest Service heavy equipment.   50%
• Assist the district engineering staff in identifying and developing plans related to current road issues on the district.   25%
• Assist district recreation staff in identifying equipment required for the remove of logs and obsolete facilities in developed campgrounds.   25%

• Health and Safety Considerations: Duties may require being outdoors exposed to a variety of conditions as heat, cold, rain, snow, etc. Work is performed in all types of large and complicated equipment in all types of weather. Work is on hills, slopes, grades, rolling surfaces and in forests.
• Required Safety Gear: Gloves, hard hat, boots, safety goggles/glasses, safety vest.
• Safety Gear Use: Operating and supervising of the equipment
• Physical requirements: Considerable physical effort is required to stand, reach, bend, turn and move hands, arms and legs to handle different sets of controls when operating.
